"Rest Your Dogs" Read Aloud Party

Students at Lincoln Elementary were invited to "Rest Their Dogs" during a special event in April made possible by a donation from Read Aloud Nebraska. After listening to a story, students were introduced to Carolyn Cheney and her dog Sassy, who are involved with the Paws-Up R.E.A.D. Therapy Dog program. Along with two other dogs and handlers, students were exposed to how therapy dogs are used in a variety of ways - including that of a reading buddy. Afterwards, students were treated to hotdogs! |
